Paid match rules

Effective September 14, 2026

Faceoff paid mode is a head-to-head skill competition. Each player controls their skater in the same deterministic game simulation. No random draw selects the winner.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 and legally permitted to enter a paid skill competition where you are located. Do not enter from a jurisdiction that prohibits or restricts this activity. You are responsible for your wallet, taxes, and compliance with local law.

Entry and payout

Each player chooses an amount in one of the stake assets the lobby lists for the match’s chain, and matchmaking pairs wallets that selected the exact same amount of the same asset. The platform does not impose a stake cap. A decisive match pays the pot to the winner less the rake shown before entry. The current rake is 2.5% of the pot. A draw returns each player’s stake without rake.

Chains and stake assets

A paid match is held by an escrow contract on one chain, and it keeps that chain until it settles or refunds. The escrow on Robinhood (chain id 4663) holds both stakes in the asset Seat A opened the match in, which is fixed for the life of that match. The lobby shows the chain and the stake asset before you sign, and your wallet must be on that chain, holding its coin for gas, to fund, reclaim, or refund.

Result

The service witnesses the confirmed rollback input stream and re-simulates its canonical replay. An authorized settlement wallet submits the derived winner and replay digest to the escrow. A client-reported score is never accepted as the result.

Cancellation, disconnects, and refunds

Seat A can reclaim an escrow that Seat B never funds. After both seats fund, the match is final unless it draws, settles, or reaches the escrow’s locked refund deadline. If the service does not settle within the escrow’s locked settlement window, either participant can call the contract’s expiry refund and each receives their stake back. The escrow records its settleWindow against a match when that match opens, and counts it from the moment both seats are funded, so a later change to the window never alters a match already under way. That recorded value is the one the refund is measured against, and the lobby shows the window a new match will lock before you fund. Network interruptions can pause or prevent play; they do not let the operator redirect escrow funds.

Fair play

Do not automate controls, tamper with the client or protocol, coordinate a false replay, exploit a defect, or interfere with another player or the service. Matches linked to abuse may be blocked from future matchmaking, without removing either participant’s onchain refund rights.

Risk

Wallet transactions are irreversible and the settlement chain’s network fees apply. Smart contracts, wallets, networks, and software can fail. Review the chain, transaction, stake asset, stake, opponent, contract address, rake, and refund window before signing.
